EAT. SLEEP. RECYLE. ~ Your Weekly Green

Ever think of saving rain water? Well, if you have not now might be the time to start thinking about harvesting rain water - Rain water that's collected is NOT for drinking or cooking but it's great to use for your garden, house plants or even bathing your pup - especially in times of drought.

An easy way to collect rain water is to install a rain barrel beneath your downspouts. You can purchase a  rain barre
l at Agway in Honesdale (they are available at most home-improvement stores) or if you are feeling handy, you can find instructions online to make your own. Look for a barrel with a secure lid to prevent kids and pets from falling in and install a screened cover to keep pesky mosquitoes from breeding. Sounds easy? That's because it is!

Good luck with the rain!
